The NFTA Metro card distribution will begin on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at the Buffalo Untied Resiliency Center that's located inside of the Resouce Councils offices at 347 East Ferry St. in Buffalo's historic Hamlin Park neighborhood.
This distribution is made to help residents who need assistance with the cost of public transportation.
We know, all to well, that access to reliable public transportation can offer pathways to education and employment, vital services, and other opportunities, that can help improve the health and well-being of individuals and the communities they live in.
-Catherine Roberts, Executive Director of the Resource Council of WNY
The distribution was originally going to be for people who live in the 14208 zip code but has since been expanded to also include folks who live in 14209, 14211, and 14215.
In order to qualify for a free Metro Pass you need to be at least 18 years old, have identification, and proof of residence in one of the included zip codes.
The Metro Passes will be available while supplies last and are free to anyone who meets the qualifications listed above.
