Eye-Opening Vaccine Dose Numbers Surging in New York State
New Yorkers are turning out in growing numbers to get their COVID-19 vaccinations. New York state has reported that over the last 24 hours, over 138,000 New Yorkers have received their first dose of the Covid-19 Vaccine.
With cases steadily on the rise in Western New York, the Governor is urging all state residents to get their vaccination;
Some numbers from across the Empire State, regarding the Vaccine from the Governors Office:
- Total vaccine doses administered - 30,759,134
- Total vaccine doses administered over past 24 hours - 138,694
- Total vaccine doses administered over past 7 days - 881,149
- Percent of New Yorkers ages 18 and older with at least one vaccine dose - 86.5%
- Percent of New Yorkers ages 18 and older with completed vaccine series - 78.8%
- Percent of New Yorkers ages 18 and older with at least one vaccine dose (CDC) - 91.9%
- Percent of New Yorkers ages 18 and older with completed vaccine series (CDC) - 81.2%
- Percent of all New Yorkers with at least one vaccine dose - 74.9%
- Percent of all New Yorkers with completed vaccine series - 67.4%
Here in Western New York, we continue to have some of the worst positivity rates in the state. Niagara County leads the way at 11.2%, followed by Chautauqua at 10.7%, and Erie County at 8.0% according to New York State. Genesee County has the worst rate in the state currently, at 12.8%.
