Erie County Sheriffs Will Make This Salary, Applications Due Soon

There has been a lack of police officers across Western New York at different agencies. Within the past couple of months, there have been quite a few hiring events in the area. The Erie County Sheriff's Department is now hiring as well. The deadline to apply for the exam is coming up TOMORROW, July 27, 2022.

The exam will take place on September 17, 2022, and on The Erie County website, they list some of the specifications, including pay:

$61,252 - $75,949 Annually
Application Fee: $30
Application Deadline: July 27, 2022
You must be under 35 years old on the day of the exam. There are some exceptions if you are older than 35 and you can see those here.

EXTRA: Three people were arrested at the Garth Brooks show on Saturday night at Highmark Stadium including a former Erie County Sheriff. The former officer was fired after he was caught with cocaine during an off-duty traffic stop. According to WGRZ, here is what the former officer was charged with:

was charged with criminal trespass in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and a violation of harassment in the second degree. The defendant was processed at the stadium and released with appearance tickets for Orchard Park Town Court, according to the sheriff's office.

The two other people that were arrested at the Garth Brooks were arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, and criminal trespass. Everyone arrested was issued an appearance ticket.
