Delaware North Forced To lay Off Workers
According to WIVB, Delaware North will lay off a total of 517 employees, the company is a big part of Western New York with 139 workers here, that will be out of work.
According to WIVB, The company has not recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic has quickly as they hoped, and that is one of the reasons for the many layoffs. I was recently at the Delaware North facility, here in Buffalo, and it's always a very pleasant experience.
A Spokesperson for Delaware North said, According to WIVB
Delaware North continues to make difficult decisions required to stabilize the company in the wake of the pandemic. These business conditions have forced us to close or greatly reduce our operations at 218 hospitality business locations in the United States.
Visitation has been greatly reduced to many of the destination hotels including, in and near national parks, and to destination restaurants in Orlando, Los Angeles, and New York we operate. As a result, today, we had to eliminate 517 full-time positions.
A spokesperson said according to WIVB.
The ability to recall workers from temporary leave has been slow due to delays in operating location openings and also working at reduced capacity. According to WIVB, the company will bring workers back as business conditions improve.
