Health Code Violations In Monroe County Last Month

Each month in Monroe County restaurants and other organizations that conduct food preparations are subject to health inspection violations. There is currently a moratorium on most federal health agencies releasing important information to the American Public. Trump has instructed them not to issue any public communication. According to Healthline,

"The Trump administration halted reports from top health agencies like the CDC, FDA, and National Institutes of Health (NIH) on Tuesday, putting communications with the general public in limbo until at least the end of the month."

While I have seen many of his supporters championing this move, it actually puts many New Yorkers and Americans at immediate risk, The USDA and FDA release information on product and food recalls that can harm or potentially kill people. Without this information going out to the media and consumers, we all could be at risk. Think that's 'left-wing media propaganda?' Think again. The Boar's Head Listeria outbreak made dozens of people sick and killed 9 people. People support withholding this information until it's their families or them that get sick or die. That's why it is so important for information about public health to be shared.

I said all of that to say, that's why I write articles about the restaurants that passed their health inspections. I want you and your family to have the information you need to make informed decisions about your health. Foodborne illness is no joke. If you've ever had food poisoning, you know how painful it can be. And that's if you just get a 24-hour bug. When we talk about more serious threats like Salmonella, Listeria, or E. coli, you could end up in the hospital or cemetery!

In case you missed it, in Monroe County 304 restaurants did not pass their health code inspections. Just over 10 percent, 39 restaurants, did pass their inspections in December.
