Across Erie County, there will be a curfew that begins at 8 pm tonight and ends at 5 am tomorrow (June 3).

The Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz made the announcement via Twitter:

"After consultation with NYS, Buffalo MayorByronBrown, Amherst Sup. @Brian_Kulpa, Tonawanda Sup. @joeemmingerr, West Seneca Sup. Gary Dickson, and Lackawanna Mayor Annette Iafallo I am imposing a curfew for all those communities from 8 pm tonight to 5 am tomorrow. essential workers can travel during curfew hours but should have proof of employment (ID, etc.). Once again, a curfew from 8pm tonight to 5am tomorrow will be in effect for the Cities of Buffalo and Lackawanna and Towns of Amherst, Cheektowaga, Tonawanda and West Seneca. The curfew also includes the Town of Cheektowaga. I spoke to Supervisor Diane Benczkowski and she agrees one should be in place." ~ Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz via Twitter
