What has happened since the announcement in March? Is the Costco store still coming? According to WKBW, Amherst Town Supervisor Brian Kulpa said the town board will take a look at the re-zoning plans in January of next year.

Some residents of the area are worried about how the massive warehouse store will affect traffic in the area. Kulpa said that the developers, Benderson Development, plan on spending $1 million to widen the roads to help ease congestion.

This Costco will be the first in the Buffalo area. The closest stores to WNY currently are located in Rochester and the Syracuse area. There are also a large number of stores across the border in Ontario, Canada.

A Costco Gold Star Membership currently costs $60 per year.
