It's time for Funk Fest! The city of Buffalo will be gettin' down for 2 days in celebration of the life and legacy of Buffalo's own, the legendary Rick James! Yasmin Young had a chance to chat with two of the ladies that make it happen each year, Marnetta Malcolm and Joyce Nixon!!

Get ready because Buffalo's own JoJo, the original lead singer for the Mary Jane Girls, is performing at Funk Fest!

The N.I.C.Y.O. Funk Fest is happening Friday, August 25th with the Jefferson Avenue Block Party from 6pm til 10pm and Saturday the August 26th from 2pm til 10pm at Lasalle Park, featuring the legendary ‘Blue Magic’ and back by popular demand, LA Sky’s tribute to Rick James!

Enjoy some of Buffalo’s best bands like the the Unity Band, the Old School B-Boys and more… plus DJ Papa Trini will keep the party going all day long…. Funk Fest is free and open to the public…but remember no tents or grills in the park!
