COMMENTARY: Artists Boycotting Florida Are More Harmful Than Helpful!

I recently ran across this post on someone's Facebook Page and I just had to finally "LOSE IT" and Speak Up!!!!  Here's the post and then My Commentary:

BREAKING NEWS!...BREAKING NEWS!!!
IN RESPONSE AND DUE TO THE STAND YOUR GROUND LAW ON THE BOOKS IN FLORIDA! ALONG WITH THE GREAT STEVIE WONDER, THE FOLLOWING ACTS HAVE CANCELED (ALL) OF THEIR UP-N-COMING CONCERT DATES, IN AND AROUND FLORIDA, INDEFINITELY!!! OR UNTIL THE LAW IN FLORIDA IS ABOLISHED.

I want to thank these artist... WE ALL SHOULD!

NOW, IF YOU ADD ALL THOSE TICKET SALES UP YOU ARE TALKING BILLIONS!

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE 20/20 VISION TOUR WAS DUE TO KICK OFF IN MIAMI - HE CANCELED AND HE QUOTED:

"I REFUSE TO ENTERTAIN A STATE WHO'S GOVERNMENT ALLOWS PEOPLE TO SHOOT-N-KILL UN-ARMED TEENAGERS!"

SOLIDARITY!!!

I don't happen to agree that "WE ALL SHOULD" agree with the Artists Boycotting Florida!  I understand the intent, but does the action actually HURT FLORIDA?  No, on the Contrary.... It HELPS!!!!

If the premise surrounding the Artists Boycotting Florida is State PUNISHMENT for the seemingly Racist Based Acquittal of George Zimmerman...OR... a means of Protesting the "STAND YOUR GROUND LAW"... how does Boycotting the State impact either? If the State of Florida, as a whole Governmentally, is Racist... the Lawmakers, & Public Constituents must be "Jumping With Joy" at the notion that there will be NO BLACK CROWD GATHERINGS COMING TO SEE THEIR FAVORITE ARTISTS!

Who does the Boycott hurt most?  It hurts Private BLACK Promoters & The Black Community in general!!!  The Promoters LOSE because they can't book shows in Florida, thus causing them to lose money...but the entity that SUFFERS MOST is the Black Community itself.  Why do people in Florida have to sacrifice being entertained by their Favorite Artists...the Community DID NOTHING WRONG?.... How does that impact THE CAUSE!!!????  It seems to PUNISH The Community.  Maybe YOU can tell me because I don't get it.

Rather than Boycott Florida, I think the Artists should altogether infiltrate the streets of Florida and perform songs in the streets with a message relative to the plight of reversing and changing the "STAND YOUR GROUND LAW"....instead of RESTING & HIBERNATING!!!!  Am I missing something? The STATE OF FLORIDA could care less about any of the Artists Boycotting by not performing... they are probably ELATED!!!!! Why aren't the Artists promoting a STATEWIDE ECONOMIC BOYCOTT...something that would TRULY IMPACT FLORIDA'S BOTTOM LINE... now that would be PHENOMENAL!!!!!  I'll bet that would get the Floridian Government's attention!!!!!
