Chris Collins Resigns from Congress

Chris Collins, the US Representative to Congress for the 27th District of New York, suddenly resigned from Congress today. Rep. Collins has been in the news lately since being charged with Securities Fraud and Insider Trading in the summer of 2018.

Multiple News Outlets are reporting that Mr. Collins will plead guilty tomorrow in Federal Court in New York City.

With this seat now vacant in Congress, Governor Cuomo will need to call for a special election in the coming weeks to fill this seat temporarily until the next general election in November 2020.
