Chris Brown Turns Himself in for Hit-and-Run Case, Says ‘X’ Album May Be His Last

Chris Brown tried to keep a low profile as he turned himself in early Monday morning (Aug. 5) at a Los Angeles jailhouse to get his mug shot taken for his hit-and-run case.

According to TMZ, Breezy snuck into a Van Nuys jail at 2PM ET with his attorney Mark Geragos without alarming the paparazzi. Talk about being stealth.

Brown was booked and released with no bail, which took about 45 minutes.

As for how Brown was able to pull this off without being photographed, it appears that while shutterbugs were busy trying to snap shots of 50 Cent, who was in court for his domestic violence case, the singer made his move and reported to jail.

Pretty sneaky, Chris.

Meanwhile, it looks like Brown is hanging up his microphone.

If we are to believe his tweets, the 'Fine China' crooner will retire from the R&B game after the release of his new album, 'X.'

“Don’t worry mainstream America. After this X album, it’ll probably be my last album," he wrote. “Being famous is amazing when it’s for ur music and talent. I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when i was 18. I’m cool & over it!"

The "mistake" Brown is apparently talking about is his arrest in February 2009, for viciously beating his then-girlfriend Rihanna.

Apparently, there are still some folks who are not forgiving Brown despite the fact that Breezy and RiRi have reconciled and patched things up.

Reactions to Brown's tweets were mixed with some rejoicing over his retirement news and others begging him not to give up on his craft.

"This is the Chris Brown that NEVER gave up[?] You had confidence & a strong heart. Don't lose it!!" wrote one follower. Another commenter pleaded, "PLEASE let Chris Brown quit music forever."
