The Chautauqua County District Attorney recently announced that a 37-year-old male pleaded guilty to first-degree murder. Michael Burham took responsibility for the shooting death of Kala Hodgkin on May 11, 2023, according to the D.A.'s Office. Two months before killing Kala, Burham raped her. He will be sentenced on March 2, 2026, and could receive a prison sentence of 25 years to life behind bars.
