Health Inspection Results In Chautauqua County Last Month

Each month, health code inspectors in Chautauqua County visit restaurants and other spots that prepare food. The inspectors are tasked with making sure restaurants, schools, hotels, legions, and even fire stations are following the safety protocols.

They thoroughly review each restaurant's operations to make sure the restaurants are not violating any health codes. Health code inspections reveal non-critical violations such as "Plumbing and sinks not properly sized, installed, maintained; equipment and floors not properly drained," and "Food not protected during storage, preparation, display, transportation and service, from potential sources of contamination (e.g., food uncovered, mislabeled, stored on floor, missing or inadequate sneeze guards, food containers double stacked)."

Some restaurants get flagged for critical violations, such as "Toxic chemicals are improperly labeled, stored or used so that contamination of food can occur" or "Food from unapproved source, spoiled, adulterated on premises."
