Changes Are Coming to Jefferson Ave and Your Input Is Needed
The City of Buffalo, in partnership with the Buffalo Water Authority and the Buffalo Sewer Authority, is planning a series of improvements to a man thoroughfare in Buffalo and officials need your help to determine exactly what should be done, and how it should all look.
Officials are planning a series of public works projects on Jefferson Avenue and they are looking for infomration from neighborhood stakeholders on exactly what should be done. The improvements are set to occur on Jefferson Avenue, from Main Street to Best Street.
Officials are seeking ideas from residents, homeowners, employers, and other community members who live and work around the approx. 1.5 mile stretch of Jefferson.
Planners are in the design phase now and your ideas are extremely valuable to them, there are multiple meetings planned for you to share your thoughts.
There are going to be three (3) separate sessions for members of the public to give their input:
- 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at the Canisius College Science Hall, Room 1013 A, 1901 Main Street (between E. Delavan Ave. and Jefferson Ave., next door to an M&T Bank), Buffalo, NY 14208
- 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at the Upper Room Chuch of God in Christ (COGIC), 131 Florida Street (at the corner of Jefferson Ave.), Buffalo, NY 14208
- 4:30 P.M. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at the Frank E Merriweather Jr Library Branch, 1324 Jefferson Avenue (at the corner of E. Utica St.), Buffalo, NY 14208
Officials will take all of this input and incorporate it into the final designs. Design planning is expected to wrap up in 2022 with construction to begin right after.
