Non-Profit Offering Free Metro Cards In This New York City

From all of the various community projects underway to the money that people donate all of the different causes that make Buffalo better.
One thing that should go a long way to helping people in and around Buffalo is thanks to a new partnership that two powerful groups in Buffalo have made.

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) and the Community Action Organization of Western New York have teamed up to offer Metro Passes to Buffalo residents for free.

The free metro passes would allow people who qualify for them to be able to ride the Metro Bus and Rail an unlimited amount of times per month.
In order to qualify, people can submit an application on the CAOWNY website and must submit certain documents. Those documents and forms include proof of income and residency, as people must have an income less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level and also must live in Erie County. A family of four would need to have less than $62,400 per year.
Other documents include photo ID, mortgage statement or rental leases, and several other forms.
