What used to be the Patriots division is now Buffalo's.
The Bills ended a streak of 11 consecutive Patriots AFC East titles back in 2020 and have now won the division four straight seasons.
New England won the division 16 of 17 years thanks in large part to Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.
However, with that duo gone, the Buffalo Bills have been the new leader at the top of the AFC East with quarterback Josh Allen leading the way.
So can the Bills make it five in a row?
According to many sportsbooks, its the Jets turn to take over the AFC East.
Gang Green is a slight favorite with New York betting sites at odds of +180 to win the AFC East, just ahead of Buffalo (+180).
Buffalo made some major changes in the offseason. First, they sent star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to Houston and let his partner Gabe Davis leave via free agency. The team added wide receiver Keon Coleman in the first-round of the draft, but he will need to get acclimated quickly to replace Diggs as the teams top target. The team also added veterans Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Curtis Samuel, and tight end Dalton Kincaid is in year two.
On the offensive line, a long-time fixture at center, Mitch Morse is gone. 2023 right guard Connor McGovern will slide over to center, so a new right guard will be starting in 2024. The Bills are strong at tackle with Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown, but definitely have interior questions.
On defense, the Bills secondary will have a new look, the team is not bringing back veteran safeties Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer, but the rest of a solid defense is intact.
As for the Jets, we know their story revolves around Aaron Rodgers, who missed all of last season with an Achilles injury. The Jets have an Super Bowl level roster, and if Rodgers can stay healthy, New York is a legit threat to win a Super Bowl.
Rodgers, 41, has plenty of options in the passing game with Garrett Wilson the top target. The team added free agent Mike Williams, who is coming off ACL surgery in 2023. Third-round selection, Malachi Corley, could be a big-time weapon, and running back Breece Hall is dynamic in the run and pass game.
The Jets have a tremendous defense, which was almost good enough to carry the team to the playoffs in 2023. Gang Green's defense is led by Sauce Gardner in the secondary, linebackers C.J. Mosley and Quincy Williams, and lineman Quinnen Williams and Haason Reddick (if he ends his holdout).
The biggest story for the Jets success will be the offensive line and the health of Rodgers, if those two can operate, the Jets should win their first AFC crown since 2022.
The third team in the AFC East, Miami has odds of +200 with the best sportsbook offers to capture their first AFC East title since 2008.
They have plenty of firepower on offense with Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Tua Tagovailoa. However, their offensive line play is not great, so keeping Tagovailoa healthy is a key to the Dolphins' success.
Miami also lost some key players on the defensive, including Andrew Van Ginkel, Christian Wilkins, Xavien Howard, and Jerome Baker.
The key for Miami will be pass protection and keeping Tagovailoa healthy and replacing key defensive tackle Christian Wilkins.
Longtime AFC East champion New England is a longshot with odds of +2500.
They are in total rebuilding mode with questions all over the field, including the quarterback position where they drafted North Carolina QB, Drake Maye No. 3 overall.
So who wins the AFC East?
There isn't a ton of value with any of these teams in the East, with three good teams, all with a chance to capture the AFC East, I like the favorite if Rodgers can stay healthy.
If I want some value, I will go with Miami. They had this division won last year before a total collapse over the final month of the season.
So for a value, albeit small, I'll take the Dolphins at +200 over Buffalo and New York to win the AFC East.
