Buffalo Woman Charged With Assault For Using Pepper Spray on Worker
A Buffalo woman who was upset over being asked to wear a mask pepper-sprayed an employee. On Sunday, September 12, 2021, 27-year-old Deshawna A. Taylor of Buffalo was arraigned on charges related to the incident. The woman went before Buffalo City Court Judge Andrew C. LoTempio and was charged with one count of assault in the second degree, which is a felony. She also received two misdemeanor charges - one count of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of unlawful possession of noxious material.
Erie County District Attorney John Flynn announced Taylor's arraignment. She allegedly went into a medical office on Main Street in Buffalo on August 31, 2021, around 4 pm. She was asked to wear a mask, which was the medical office's policy. Taylor declined and pepper-sprayed the employee. There was a child present in the office, which is why she is facing the misdemeanor charge of child endangerment. The victim was treated by medical personnel. An order of protection was issued against Taylor on behalf of the victim. The no-contact order also prevents Taylor from visiting the medical office again. She is due back in court on Monday, September 27, 2021, at 9:30 am. She is facing a maximum of seven years behind bars if she is convicted on all three charges.
It's crazy how wild people will get over mask requirements. There are plenty of videos on Instagram and TikTok of people acting an ass, just for being asked to wear a mask. Below are the major stores that have updated their mask policies recently.
