Buffalo Urban League Extends Deadline for Scholarship Program
The Buffalo Urban League is giving area high school students a chance to apply for its scholarship program, by extending the deadline!
The deadline has been extended to April 17, 2019 for the Buffalo Urban League's 2019 scholarships program. Students can apply to receive money for college and/or advanced training programs, according to a press release. The scholarship is sponsored by National Fuel, community leaders, families and organizations. Two students will receive scholarships of $15,000 per year, for four years, each. Another $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to one student.
“The Buffalo Urban League scholarships are an investment in the education of graduates from our community so that they are prepared to be economically self-sufficient through employment and/or as entrepreneurs. Each year, through generous donors, we are able to award scholarships to deserving high school and High School Equivalency (HSE, formerly GED) graduates,” said Brenda McDuffie, President & CEO of the Buffalo Urban League. “Last year we were fortunate to award 204 scholarships to the Class of 2018. This year, we hope to award even more.”
The scholarships will be presented at the 2019 Buffalo Urban League Scholarship Ceremony starting at 6 pm on Tuesday, May 29, at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s Research Study Center. For more information contact the Buffalo Urban League at 716-250-2400 or online at www.buffalourbanleague.org.
