Lots Of Free Family Fun & Performances At The University United Festival
Get ready for a great time with the entire family at the free University United Festival. The festival has expanded and now will be two days this year - Saturday, June 11, and Sunday, Jun 12, 2022. It will take place at Buffalo South Campus Rotary Field, across from the VA Hospital on Bailey Avenue in the heart of Buffalo’s University District. Whether or not you and your family live in the University District, you are still invited out to enjoy lots of fun activities. The brainchild of University District Councilmember Rasheed N.C. Wyatt and his wonderful staff, the festival is more than just a concert.
Attendees will enjoy great food from community vendors, free attractions at the Kids Zone sponsored by KeyBank, local community informational booths, local small business vendors, food trucks, and more! Due to the tragic hate crime that took the lives of 10 people on May 14, security will be extra tight this year. Please do not attempt to bring any type of weapon on the premises.
The University United Festival will take place:
Saturday, June 11, 2022, starting at 2:30 pm
Sunday, June 12, 2022, starting at 3:00 pm
The free concert will begin at 3 pm on Saturday, featuring Cami Clune from NBC’s ‘The Voice’, hosted by comedian Gary Wallace, Councilmember Rasheed Wyatt & Erie County Legislature Chairwoman April Baskin.
On Saturday, there will be free performances from Bobby V, MYA, The Whispers, and Joe.
Sunday is 'Gospel Day.' Pastor D’Mott and Bishop Darius G. Pridgen emcee Gospel Day with performances from Darcel Blue, Le’Andria Johnson, and headliner Fred Hammond. You can only bring lawn chairs, please do not bring tents, umbrellas, coolers, or anything else. More information can be found at www.universityunitedfestival.com or on the festival’s Facebook page.
