Buffalo SWAT Team Called To Apartments, Two People In Custody
An incident at Pine Harbor Apartments is under investigation. Police were called to the complex around 5:30 am on Saturday, February 20, 2022. News reports say that a man barricaded himself in an apartment. Two people are now in custody, but the charges against them have not been released yet by the Erie County Sheriff's Office, which oversees the SWAT Team,
The Erie County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team is the only FEMA type one tactical team within the eight counties of Western New York. The ECSO SWAT team consists of 19 members, 6 of which are FBI certified hazardous device technicians (bomb techs). The Sheriff’s Office SWAT handles all requests generated by its agency as well as assisting any municipality that does not have a tactical team.

Power 93.7 WBLK will be hosting a town hall about preventing youth violence in Buffalo. Join Yasmin Young and our special guests starting at 10 am on Saturday, February 26 for the on-air conversation. For an hour on Saturday morning, we'll stop the music to talk about this important issue facing our community. We are losing too many young people to violence and the streets. It's spilling over into our schools and has long-term effects on the youth. We've asked community leaders, members of anti-violence community groups, and the City to be a part of the discussion.
