Buffalo Students Are Invited To Learn About HBCUs At Free Event This Saturday!
Calling all high school juniors and seniors!! This Saturday, join Yasmin Young and King Center Charter School, in conjunction with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, Gamma Phi Omega Chapter to be a part of the HBCU Think Tank on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 11am-2pm!
The purpose of this event is to expose students in the City of Buffalo to Historically Black Colleges and Universities and other types of higher education options. We will provide students with a little bit of history, create a dialogue with them about college selection and campus fit. We will also have HBCU alumni and admissions reps present to hand out information and share what the HBCU experience is like. We will provide the students with lunch, and end the event with a guided round table discussion where the youth identify things that create challenges to their success. We then will assist them in creating solutions.
