Typically, this time of year, we're dealing with several things on the weather front in the Buffalo area. Looking at monthlysnowfall data from the National Weather Service, around 34 inches of snow should have fallen on Western New York by the end of December, however if you take a look outside you will see many things; but the one thing you will not see is snow.
So far, in the 2023-24 snowfall season, very little has fallen compared to where we should be this time of year. The lack of snowfall has many folks wondering if Buffalo is going to have snow on the ground for Christmas morning.
Is Buffalo Going To Have a White Christmas?
Weather forecast data for Buffalo and Western New York from the Weather Channel for the next ten days or so show a pretty interesting weather trend.
While it's likely that Western New York will have some snowfall over the next few days, the next ten days are looking more and more like we will not have any significant change of major snowfall in the 716 before December 25, 2023.
The National Weather Service's detailed weather forecast comes to this same conclusion.
With daily low temperatures expected to be above freezing for most of the week, coupled with the occasional rain and occasional high temperatures near 50, it's looking less likely that we're going to have any kind of snow that will stick in the next few days.
Maybe the weather reports will change, but all signs point to Buffalo not having a white Christmas.
