Robert Dumas of Buffalo, has been arrested and charged with assaulting the toddler, according to WIVB. The beatings happened over the past month. Erie County Prosecutor John Flynn said the girl is on life support. The charges against Dumas are the highest under the depraved indifference subsection;

"A person has a depraved indifference to human life when that person has an utter disregard for the value of human life – a willingness to act, not because he or she means to cause grievous harm, but because he or she simply does not care whether or not grievous harm will result."

Dumas has allegedly caused life-threatening injuries to the young girl, who is the daughter of his girlfriend. She was found unresponsive. He repeatedly assaulted her at a home on Hirschbeck Avenue in Buffalo on Tuesday, September 15, 2020. The girl is currently at Oishei Children’s Hospital. Dumas, whose bail was set at $200,000, even though prosecutors requested no bail, is expected to be back in court on Tuesday, September 22.

Please keep the girl in your prayers!
