Buffalo will be getting a new waterfront dining option in the First Ward. A new beach bar is planned for 310 Ohio Street, which is right across the river from Buffalo Riverworks. I have always said that Buffalo is an amazing city, especially because of how much water access we have. Yes, it's cold many months out of the year and we get tons of snow, but in the summer, we are popping!

Papi Grande’s Mexican restaurant is planning to open a beach bar at the 310 Ohio property, which currently has residences. The restaurant is currently located at 4276 Maple Road in Amherst and the beach bar will be a new location. According to Buffalo Rising, the beach bar location will have a capacity of around 1,000. You know what that means, right? Quite possibly a new venue for concerts and shows. The design includes a patio, and 310 Ohio already has a boat dock.

It sounds like what summer dreams are made of. I've always wondered why it took so long for Buffalo to switch its waterfront properties from industrial to residential and tourist areas. Having lived in Florida for over a decade, I have the attitude that waterfront property is not for factories, it's for luxury and fun.

The First Ward area is definitely growing when it comes to offering a variety of activities. There's a coffee shop located next to Riverworks, which is super cool. It's called Coffee and Waffles. The vibe pays tribute to Buffalo's industrial history, using shipping containers to create a unique patio.

Riverworks also keeps adding attractions, which already bring a ton of people to the area. Once the beach bar is completed, that whole area will be even more special.

Hopefully, some of the other abandoned buildings will be revitalized with other restaurants and attractions.
