Multiple Suspects Wanted For 4 Armed Car Jackings In Rochester
Police in Rochester are searching for multiple suspects after a string of armed carjacking took place last night. Four vehicles were stolen by suspects with handguns.
The first incident happened near 300 block of Dunn Street. Around 10:30 pm on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, multiple suspects, who brandished at least one gun, stole a victim's vehicle. As police attempted to pull the suspects over, they crashed the car into a tree on Steko Avenue and fled from the vehicle. One male was arrested by officers.
The second carjacking happened after midnight on Thursday, March 17 around the 100 block of Webster Avenue. Multiple suspects were also involved in that incident. The third carjacking was taking place around the same time near the 1100 block of East Main Street. An Uber driver's vehicle was stolen by multiple armed suspects also.
The fourth incident in the string of carjackings happened around 1:30 am on Thursday near West Ridge Road. Similar to the other three, the victim's car was stolen by multiple armed suspects.
If you have any information about any suspects in these armed carjackings, do not approach them, contact 911 instead. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported during any of the robberies.
Police have not said whether all of the carjackings are related. But it does seem coincidental that four vehicles were stolen within just a few hours of each other using the same modus operandi. It could be a carjacking ring. Three teenagers - ages 13, 15 and 16 - were arrested in February for carjacking in Rochester.
