All Eyez on Me is in theaters today (June 16) on what would have been 2Pac’s 46th birthday, and all eyes are now on Demetrius Shipp Jr. who did a great job playing the late iconic rap star.

In an interview with TMZ, Shipp said it was humbling to play 2Pac and he appreciates the fans’ positive reviews. “It’s an amazing feeling,” he said.

When asked if he’s ready to portray the rapper again in future movies, shockingly, he said, “No.”

Shipp says that he’s done with playing 2Pac, adding that the biopic was a stepping stone to bigger things. “This is a foot in the door, in a major way,” he said. “This is an opportunity to build from. The next role is essential for me to be known as Demetrius Shipp the actor and not Tupac.”

Now don’t get it twisted, Shipp doesn’t mind being remembered as the actor who played 2Pac, but the 28-year-old actor has his “eyez” on other opportunities in Hollywood.

It's not unusual for one actor to play the same iconic figure in different films. Shipp's All Eyez on Me co-star Jamal Woolard has portrayed the late Notorious B.I.G. in a couple of movies, including the 2009 Biggie biopic, Notorious.

It's will be interesting to see what role Demetrius Shipp Jr. will play next. All Eyez on Me is currently in theaters. To find out where it's playing near you, click here.
