A Local Postal Worker Honored For Helping Injured Child
A postal worker from Lewiston was honored as the Letter Carrier Hero of the Year after she helped save a 10-year-old's life.
Theresa Jo Belkota was honored after she helped a young boy who was hurt while mowing his lawn. She used her shirt to help stop the flow of blood and apply pressure to the femoral artery until help arrived.
Without her intervention, the boy would of bleed to death. The boy lost his foot in the accident but is doing ok now.
