Amidst The Little Mermaid backlash after the main character Ariel was announced to be a woman of color, it seems to be more than a trend and more of a deserved placement these days as more and more people of color are filling roles of characters in many of classic Disney movies. This week, we learned that in addition to Beyonce, another very popular music artist is on the credits of the remake of The Lion King. Chance The Rapper posted a photo at the movie's premier with a heartfelt caption that confirmed he too has landed a role in the film! The news was well received and the masses is looking forward to The Lion King's release in theaters on July 17th.

The OVO Fest lineup was announced this week with a little flack from fans and social media. The lineup is to include B2K, Mario, Lloyd, Pretty Ricky, Ying Yang Twins, Chingy, and Bobby V and some said it's reminiscent of the recent Millennium Tour. BUT, I can almost guarantee there's a method to Drake's madness and he has something super dope in store for the attendees of this year's OVO Fest. Despite some hesitation among some, the tour is already sold out shortly after tickets went on sale so either way it's lit!

R. Kelly is once again under fire as he's been indicted for charges stemming from circumstances similar to the trail of legal troubles he's endured as of late. He was arrested by NYPD and the Department of Homeland Security and is being held because he's seen as a threat to society.
