6ix9ine Refuses to Take Plea Deal in Federal Racketeering and Weapons Case
With seemingly ever-mounting evidence against 6ix9ine and, of course, speculation that he would cooperate with the government to get off on the charges, the rapper does not seem at all about that plea deal life.
According to a statement from Tekashi's lawyer Lance Lazzaro, his client has full intentions on taking his case to trial and will refuse any plea deal, if presented with one. "A plea deal is simply off the table, even if the feds offer one," he told TMZ on Sunday (Dec. 9).
Lazzaro continues to assert his client's innocence. "[6ix9ine] was never part of a conspiracy, plain and simple. Nor did he ever participate in any incidents that the government has alleged," he added.
In addition to not taking a plea deal, the attorney states 6ix will not cooperate with the government and snitch on his team either.
On Saturday (Dec. 8), even more damning evidence appeared to leak when surveillance video was released that the Feds say puts Tekashi at the scene of an armed robbery and a shooting. This is just the latest of a laundry list of evidence prosecutors claim they have against the "Gummo" rapper and his fellow crew members who were all arrested in late November and charged with racketeering and weapons charges. Additional drug-trafficking charges were tacked on.
Lazzaro has stated all along that the U.S. Attorney's Office excessively charged the rap artist. "When the facts come out I am confident that the charges will be dismissed as it relates to Daniel Hernandez Tekashi 6ix9ine," Lazzaro said following 6ix's arrest.
6ix9ine has plead not guilty to the charges. His trial date has been set for Sept. 4, 2019.
