The warmer weather is upon us, and if there is one thing that millions of New Yorkers are looking forward to, it has to be the arrival of festival and fair season.

The Empire State features all sorts of festivals all over the region. Not only festivals but county fairs are about to get into full swing, with one of the most anticipated fairs of the year on the way. Around 1 million people are expected to travel to Central New York this month to attend the 182nd New York State Fair.

While I have my complaints about New York State, the state fair is not one of them. It's truly one of the favorite things on my summer bucket list, and there are tons of reasons why.

Of course, you have all of the usual and typical fair stuff to do. From highlighting New York's agriculture to rides and, of course, fried dough, there's always tons to do in Syracuse during the state fair. However, there is one thing in particular that I truly love about this time of year at the state fair, and it's the concerts.

Having attended my fair share of fairs in my day, I know very few of them offer the same level of entertainment that I have seen at the New York State Fairgrounds. Unlike other fairs that entertain, you get the chance to see all sorts of artists for just the cost of admission to the fair, which is only $8, while other fairs charge an additional ticket price to see a concert.

Like lots of other people, I am a huge music fan. While this year's concert calendar is impressive, there are a few shows that I have to make sure I head to Syracuse this summer to see.
