Whether it is owners who have "forgotten" that they are packing a gun or people who just don't know laws, there has been a steady stream of guns being brought to the airport checkpoints.

Syracuse.com reports the TSA says 28 weapons have been confiscated at the airport's security checkpoint since 2013.  That's the highest total among airports in Upstate New York during that time period.

There are stiff penalties for those who are caught with illegal weapons in the airport and even jail is a possibility.
