New studies show that although the teen pregnancy rate is down overall in New York state, the rates have increased in Erie County and are extremely high in Buffalo. The highest rates are found on the East side of Buffalo where there are less resources and lower academic achievement. News 4 reported that in Buffalo for "every 1,000 15 to 19-year-old females, there are 69 pregnancies".

The Department of Health is looking for ways to help reduce these rates and increase sexual awareness among teens, and Erie County even received $10 million dollars to help decrease the rates but their efforts have fallen short.

Tonight's question is: Why do think Buffalo has such a high Teen Pregnancy Rate and What Can we do as Community to Prevent it?
