Should Children Be Opted Out of New York State Tests ? Why or Why Not?

If you have a student in the grades 3 through 8 they're likely to be taking the New York State Assessments this month unless you opt them out. The ELA assessment starts tomorrow and the math assessments begin next week. Some people are against the standardized tests while many don't even know what they're for. Either way the tests create a lot of anxiety and confusion in students.
