Was The Oscar Statuette Copied?

I thought I would blog this morning about the similarities between the Oscar statuette and a certain Egyptian deity named Ptah!

The Oscar statue is presented as an Art Deco showing a knight holding a Crusader’s sword standing on film reel. Ptah represents the personification of the primordial mound which arose out of the waters of Nun. Ptah uttered the world/universe into being and is therefore known as the god of craftsmen and artisans.

What do you think? Can you see the similarities in the two and what they represent or stand for?
