Wale’s Collaboration With Jerry Seinfeld, New Future Featuring Drake, B.I.G.’s Daughter Visits BK + MORE! [HIP-HOP HEADLINES]
The year continues, and so do the headlines. We’ve had you covered with exclusive releases — like Justin Timberlake’s new single featuring Jay-Z, “Suit & Tie,” and Pusha T’s latest banger featuring Rick Ross, “Millions” — and now we’ve got you with the latest hip-hop news and music.
HIP-HOP NEWS: T’yanna Smalls Roams Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. The daughter of legendary Brooklyn rapper Notorious B.I.G. took to her father’s old stomping grounds for an interview with Global Grind. T’yanna visited spots that were pivotal in Biggie’s life, such as his childhood home and Orient Temple. It’s interesting to see how T’yanna speaks about her father, despite having lost him at a young age. It’s also extremely enlightening to see what a great job her mother did in keeping her level-headed, as she’s currently a student at Penn State University.
NEW MUSIC: Future ft. Drake — “Fo’ Real”. Rap crooner Future has been experiencing minor setbacks with his upcoming mixtape The Movie, but judging by all the momentum he’s had recently from his features with artists like Rihanna, T.I. and Lil’ Wayne, his latest release, “Fo’ Real,” should be just what fans need to hold them over. What do you guys think?
NEW VISUALS: Rick Ross ft. Stalley — “Love Sosa (Freestyle)”. MMG leader Rick Ross teamed up with Stalley to not only record their respective verses on Chief Keef’s “Love Sosa” but also shoot a quick music video. And what would be a quick freestyle and video without a shameless plug for Ross’ upcoming project Mastermind?
NEW MUSIC: Fabolous ft. Chris Brown — “Ready”. Fab dropped the first track off his upcoming album, Loso’s Way 2, which features the low-key, lusty lyrics Fab is known for, accompanied by Chris Brown on the hook. Loso’s Way 2 is scheduled for a February 2013 release.
MUSIC NEWS: Jerry Seinfeld to Work with Wale on The Album About Nothing. Hardcore Wale fans know about the DC rapper’s obsession with the show Seinfeld. His 2008 mixtape, The Mixtape About Nothing, is one of his most acclaimed, and it seems Jerry Seinfeld himself agrees. The above video shows Seinfeld explaining how he came to learn about Wale’s music (his wife!), what rapper he was supposed to originally work with prior to this collaboration and more!
MIXTAPE TEASER: Pusha T — Wrath of Cain. Little by little, Pusha T is starting to show the hip-hop community how hard he’s about to come in 2013. The V.A. rapper’s upcoming mixtape, Wrath of Cain, is set to drop soon, and the above trailer shows how potentially gritty the project might prove to be. Pusha has already dropped “Blocka” and “Millions” for the mixtape, and “Pain,” which will be on his upcoming album, My Name Is My Name (sound familiar, The Wire fans?), this March as well.
