In 1955, a 14-year-old African-American boy, Emmett Till, was brutally killed for "allegedly" whistling at a white woman in Mississippi. His murderers were acquitted of the crime.
Lil Wayne apologized for his controversial lyrics on Future's song "Karate Chop", but that didn't stop Emmett Till's family from continuing their protests against Lil Wayne. As a result, Mountain Dew went ahead and dropped Weezy from his endorsement deal earlier this month.

It looks like the Emmett Till Family and Lil Wayne have not made amends just yet. Airickca Gordon-Taylor, the spokesperson for the Till estate, says the family doesn't view Weezy's letter as a formal apology.
