The San Francisco School Board will hold a vote on the proposal at the end of April, according to ABC 7. The district is taking into account that some students do not have access to internet, computers or other learning tools to help them. Essentially, when students are forced to learn at home, the playing field isn't level. Technically, the California Department of Education would not give the district the option to give students automatic A grades, it would be a pass or fail grade.

"The reason a lot of us wanted to move in this direction is because we want to acknowledge that all of our students are doing the very best in a really hard time," ~ Board President Mark Sanchez via ABC 7
