This Thursday, August 27, there will be a celebration of the life of Demetrius "DJ Shay" Robinson at True Bethel Church, located at 907 E.Ferry St. in Buffalo, according to a post on Instagram. DJ Shay passed away due to COVID-19. The public celebration will be from 10 am to 11:30 am. His celebration of life will also be available to view on TrueBethel.com, for friends and family not currently in Buffalo. The family asks that people respect the private ceremony.

We want to send our condolences to DJ Shay's family and loved ones. He was the owner of Buff City Records, the go-to producer for the Black Soprano Family and legendary DJ in the City of Buffalo. He recently produced “Grams in the Water” for Benny, Loveboat Luciano and Rick Hyde. Shay's last message on Facebook spoke about Benny the Butcher:

"Just in case I’m on my death bed Chains ⛓ aka Benny aka The butcher coming nigga is the best rapper in the world ."
