In California the incarceration of inmates is so high, that the Supreme Court will hear argument this morning between the state and federal courts as to whether or not some inmates should be released. The current overcrowding has made the conditions there inhuman and unfit to live. I have said on numerous occasions, prisons are built to supply cheap labor to private companies that build them. People are being incarcerated at an alarming rate and some for petty crimes that the majority of minorities seem to commit. The prison system is not in the business of supplying rehabilitation for these prisoners because when they are returned to society, most become repeat offenders. The entire system needs to be overhauled from laws to those private companies that build these facilities of cheap labor.
