You Could Win $5 Million If You Get Vaccinated In WNY Next Week

Many Western New York residents and residents across New York State have been fully vaccinated, as vaccination sites have been up and running for weeks across New York.

However, the amount of people who have been vaccinated has decreased dramatically recently, which is why New York State is starting something new for New York residents.

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced in Buffalo today the new incentive program called "Vax & Scratch." It will start next week, on Monday.

The program will give a person getting vaccinated a New York lottery ticket. The top prize is $5 million!!

But that's not all. There will be smaller money prizes, all the way down to $20. People will have a 1 in 9 chance to win something with the Vax & Scratch" program.

The program will start at 10 mass vaccination sites statewide, including Western New York at the University at Buffalo.

It won't last long, however, only going from Monday-Friday next week. We will see if the program will be extended or another "Vax & Scratch" initiative will happen, but for now if you want a chance at winning money, you can get the vaccine!
