
WNY Non-Profit Offering Free Growth Workshop for Business Owners
If you are a business owner in Buffalo and Western New York who wants to scale up your business, this free workshop is for you. Launch NY is hosting the virtual workshop to help Buffalo minority and women-owned businesses scale their businesses. According to a press release I received, it's designed to help owners achieve growth,
Through its “Founders Go Big” program, Launch NY looks to Identify, Educate, Inspire & Engage underrepresented founders whose businesses have the potential to grow to $10 million+ in revenue over the next 5 years.
By participating, you'll be able to access Launch NY's “Starter Funding Pool,” which provides $5,000 to $25,000 in initial equity investment funding. The “Founders Go Big” team will be hosting an “Ask the Expert” workshop tomorrow, Thursday, September 16, 2021, to give guidance to Buffalo business owners on how to take advantage of the funding program.

Small Businesses Affected by Bad Weather Can Apply for Funds
While we're on the subject of small businesses, if you're in WNY and your business was damaged by inclement weather in July, you can apply for disaster relief through New York State. Governor Kathy Hochul made the announcement on Tuesday, September 14, 2021,
"Thanks to the Small Business Administration, New Yorkers impacted by the severe storms and flash flooding we experienced in several parts of the state in late July are now eligible to apply for disaster relief. I thank Administrator Guzman for her support and encourage those who were victims of these weather events to visit the Disaster Loan Outreach Centers in their respective communities and begin the recovery process."
