Erie County Department Of Health Recommends People Take Precautions When Outside
Things are getting so bad that, in addition to the hazy skies and recent reports that actual ash is falling from the skies in places all over the Empire State, health departments all over the area are issuing various warnings of ways to stay healthy.
The impacts of smoke inhalation should not be minimized and because of this, the Erie County Department of Health is recommending that people considering wearing masks if they need to be outside for an extended period of time.
If you have to go outside for an extended period of time, a well-fitted N95 mask can filter out some particles in polluted air. People who wear N95 masks when outside should avoid strenuous activity. Reducing exposure to polluted outdoor air is the best way to avoid negative health effects.
