As of Tuesday, November 23rd, anyone over the age of 2 in Erie County will need to wear a mask regardless of their vaccination status when they are in public indoors.

What about outside Erie County? In Niagara, Orleans, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua counties, you are expected to wear a mask in public if you are vaccinated.

In fact, across New York State, according to AARP.com, Masks are required for unvaccinated people in indoor public places and for all people on public transit and in health care and long-term care facilities; detention centers; homeless shelters; schools, and child-care centers; and state-regulated group facilities.

If you plan on going to a Bills game or a Sabres game, at the time of this article was being written according to their websites, if you are vaccinated you will not need to wear a mask when you attend games.

If you are going to any University at Buffalo sporting events, Masks are required indoors (except in certain settings), even if you’re vaccinated. Masks are also required outdoors at large gatherings.

New York State health officials are encouraging everyone to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Also, they are encoring everyone who has already gotten the vaccine to get the booster as well.

Anyone who is over 18  and already received the Pfizer or Moderna initial vaccine series at least six months ago or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two months ago is now eligible for their booster dose.

People over the age of 50 and others with underlying conditions are highly encouraged to get a booster shot as soon as they can.
