Troy Davis Executed in Georgia

Dispite the fact that there was no DNA evidence against him and seven witnesses had recanted their stories, Troy Davis was executed in the state of Georgia yesterday after a last ditch effort to have the Supreme Court stay his execution.

Just seconds before his death Davis spoke the family of the slain officer Mark MacPhail and said that he was not responsible for the officer's death and did not have a gun at the time, according to execution witnesses [CNN]
