Top 3 Entertainment News Stories Of The Week: Jay Z Ends Decade Old Beef, The Return Of Freaknik, Bun B Shoots Intruder.
If you didn't already think Jay Z, his recent performance at Webster Hall should definitely seal the deal. Not only did he drop several jewels in pure Hov fashion including lines that encouraged black communities to gentrify their own neighborhoods, he also ended a decade long beef with rapper Cam'ron by bringing him out on stage and the two performed "Welcome To New York City" off of Cam's "Come Home With Me" album which was released around the time the beef ensued.
Uncle Luke's Freaknik was probably the most raunchy event that went down in Atlanta, annually in the early to 1980's to late 1990's...it started as a movement for college students who stayed put during spring break but then the locals and non-college students began to join the fun and it was all downhill from there. It was later banned but it's finally making a comeback this year but taking on a different form, family friendly! If you're old enough you can probably remember the amount of shenanigans that made Freaknik no place for families and if you're not old enough google it lol but it's a new day and the event plans to feature acts from Luke himself, Project Pat, Adina Howard, Lil Scrappy and more who all by the way doesn't make some of the most kid friendly but hey who knows! Will you and your family be attending Freaknik Saturday, June 22nd?
If you're looking for a quick come up you definitely won't find it by running up in rapper Bun B's house. An armed intruder gained access to his home this week and was met with Bun B, guns a blazin! The intruded escaped with a gunshot wound to his shoulder and empty handed. He was later arrested at a Houston Hospital and charged with 2 counts of aggravated robbery with a weapon and one count burglary.
