Police in Tonawanda are searching for a missing teen girl, who is 14-years-old. Have you seen her?
Alexis Marks, who also goes by the nickname Lexi, has been missing for a week, according to the Town of Tonawanda Police Department's Facebook post. In the past few months, there seems to be a lot of teen girls missing from Buffalo and WNY. I hope this is not due to human trafficking. It's weird because I've noticed a few were "last seen" or "seen around" the Black Rock neighborhood. I hope that Alexis is found safe and reunited with her family.
In WNY, the Buffalo office of The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children aims to find missing children,
"The Buffalo Office is focused on Prevention Education. NCMEC provides abduction prevention and internet safety presentations for children ages 5-17. NCMEC Buffalo services schools, community centers, summer camps, churches all free of charge."
They distribute missing children posters, do community outreach, provide law enforcement training, and more. You can help find more missing children in New York by donating or you can contact them to find out about other ways to help by calling 716-842-6333.
