With the Big Game happening this Sunday, there is going to be some gatherings and some celebrations, yes we are Buffalo Bills fans, but the reason Buffalo ranks 2nd in small market cities for football is that Buffalo is a "Football City", so no matter who's playing there will be some partying.

According to WIVB, the New York State Police will be cracking down on reckless and impaired driving during this Big Game weekend. Last year during the Big Game weekend State Police arrested over 120 people and they issued over 8000 tickets. This year State Police will be running a STOP-DWI campaign which will include, increased patrols and sobriety checkpoints.

The enforcement initiative will start this Friday and run until Monday, February 8. I have come up with a few ideas that could keep you safe and away from getting in trouble with the law. This may be obvious to most people, but my first tip is to remember if you are going to have a few drinks, give a friend your keys, I have witnessed far too many times, people that don't realize how drunk they actually are. My second tip is to drink plenty of water, while your drinking, although this doesn't stop you from becoming impaired, it will slow down the process.

Drivers should remember if they are pulled over and ticketed for driving while impaired, convictions can carry a maximum fine of $10,000, up to seven years in prison, and license revocation.
