It certainly is great having gas prices drop under 2 bucks a gallon here in Western New York! Remember there was a time gas was well over four dollars a gallon?

Gas prices hit lower than a dollar in Michigan – in fact, they are down to 47 cents. Yes, cents. New York, for a change, is about at the United States average for gas currently.

Gas prices in the U.S. are averaging at $1.889 today, down over 17 cents from last year's average of $2.061, according to GasBuddy.com. Low gas prices can likely be attributed to low oil prices, as oil supply stays high and oil demand stays low.

Expect gas prices to drop even more as we head into February around Buffalo. See how much the LOWEST gas station is charging in your town, according to our friends at GasBuddy.com.
