Think Gas Prices Are Bad In Buffalo? Look What They’re Paying In Canada

Gas isn't cheap these days.  But you know what they say, there's always someone out there that has it worse.  In this case, its' people who aren't far from us.

Gas has skyrocketed here in the states over the last couple days.  Just this week it saw over a 13 cent jump.  The average price for a gallon of gas in the U.S. today is over $4.  It's the first time that we've seen gas that high since the 2008 recession.

So there's no question that we are paying more than we have in a long time, but believe it or not, it's worse in Canada.

According to at least one Canadian tweeter, they're paying $1.70...per liter.

I'm not trying to pick apart this gentleman's post but in full disclosure when looking at the math...there are about 3.79 liters in a gallon so 3.79 X $1.70 = $6.44 per gallon (he just multiplied by 4 instead of 3.79 to get $6.80).  It also doesn't figure in the conversion from the Canadian dollar to the US dollar.  So when you figure all that in, gas there is well above $5 per gallon. Again, I'm not trying to pick apart his post, the point is that gas is quite a bit more for our neighbors to the north.

And he's not alone.  That's just right over the border.  In other parts of Canada, it's even more!

Now, don't take this the wrong way.  I'm certainly not saying that gas is cheap here in the U.S., actually far from it.  But when looking at what people are paying in other places, it sure doesn't feel like this is just a problem that we're dealing with here.
