The Erie County Fair Releases 2021 Information; Ticket Reservations Will Be Needed

It was fantastic news on Monday afternoon, when the Erie County Fair announced that the fair would return in 2021, after being canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.

The Fair will take place August 11-22 at the Hamburg Fairgrounds and on Thursday, officials announced restrictions, guidelines, and other important information regarding the 2021 version of the fair.

According to WIVB, NO proof of vaccine will be required to attend the Erie County Fair. Those who are fully vaccinated will not need a mask to attend the Fair.

However, ticketing will be much different this year, to help keep with the daily 74,000 capacity limit.

Tickets will need to be purchased online before coming to the fair and you must choose the day you wish to attend.

Parking will be included with your pre-purchased tickets, which totals $13.50.

60,000 tickets will be sold for each day, which is approximately half-capacity, per WIVB. Kids under 12 will be free but tickets still need to be purchased for them (free-of-charge tickets) to keep track of capacity.

The Fair will be following CDC guidelines but according to Jessica Underberg, CEO of The Erie County Fair, the event will look more normal than they initially thought.

As for concerts, those also will take place this year.
Grandstand capacity for concerts will be 2,400 to start and will go up if state guidelines change. It will be 33 percent capacity to start.

Among acts performing will be Jon Pardi, Mark Chesnutt, Sawyer Brown, Styx and For King + Country.

I can’t even express how happy I am that the Erie County Fair will be taking place this year. It will look pretty normal too, other than having to reserve a date and purchase a ticket before going, but with a capacity limit, that’s absolutely understandable and expected for an event as large as the Fair.
